This is essentially the same rifle as the Remington Airmaster 77 and Crosman 2100, although the latter has mostly metal components. Good build quality (almost entirely synthetic materials). I prefer the Winchester 1977xs to the Crosman Legacy 1000, but they're very close to each other in quality and performance. If price is a major factor, I'd recommend the Daisy 880, although the Crosman arguably has an overall better build quality. This is a very good entry-level air rifle, comparable to other better variable pumpers. Trigger is terrible, full of packing grease and metal shavings, hard to pump for a younger shooter Anyone willing to put in some work will get a great gun. In conclusion, this is a great budget project gun. Also, straight out of the box, it's full of metal shavings and packing grease. A little sanding on the arms did the trick. After about 100 pumps, it caused little metal shavings to be everywhere on the bottom of the barrel. This is because the arms that connect the barrel / air tank with the gun are a little too wide. Second when you pull out the forearm of the gun to pump it, it makes a terrible scratching noise. I immediately took it apart and did a trigger job. Finally, I got frustrated, jerked it back, and it shot. When I first shot the gun, I thought it was broken because I kept pulling back the trigger and it wouldn't shoot. The trigger is absolutely terrible straight out of the box. Once a decent scope is installed, it will shoot 1/2" groups at 15 yards with 7.9gr crosman hollow points.
